NPT MergingUnit Multiplexer

NPT Merging Unit Multiplexer  is intended for data acquisition from traditional current and voltage transformers and transmission of this data by means of IEC 61850-9-2 protocol (Sampled Values) to bay control units and RPA devices.

Use of NPT Merging Unit is the most cost-effective solution for integration of existing infrastructure (power equipment) into Digital Substation control and automation system. NPT Merging Unit can also be used for medium Voltage Grade facilities (6, 10, 35 kV) as a part of a cubicle switchboard for A/D conversion of data from current and voltage transformers installed in cells and transmission of the converted data by means of standard IEC 61850-9-2 protocol (Sampled Values).

Use of the standard protocol allows integration of the NPT Merging Unit  with other Digital Substation devices, for example, with digital current transformers for differential protection of power transformer at a high Voltage Grade.

To reduce the data flow from the multiplexer devices they are provided with facilities to calculate power quality indicators and transmit them by means of IEC 61850-8-1 (MMS) protocos.

Purpose:

Digital transmission of measured data from current and voltage transformers by means of IEC 61850-9-2 protocol.

Installation:

Multiplexer unit can be installed at an outdoor switchgear very close to the current and voltage transformens as well as in a cubicle switchboard.
