Telemechanics controller (TMC)

 

Telemechanics controller is designed to provide communication with the data acquisition devices, data pre-processing, for temporary data archiving, and for its transfer to the upper control levels. In case of creation the data acquisition and reporting system (DARS), the telemechanics controller also serves as the station communication controller and provides for the integration of microprocessor-based field devices (MP RPA devices, emergency automation (EA), fault recorder, etc.).

For DARS creation, connection of the telemechanics controller with MP RPA and other related systems is realized via RS 485\232: protocols IEC 60870-5-103/.../Modbus; by Ethernet interface: protocol IEC 60870-5-104/IEC 61850. Transmission of information from the telemechanics controller to the upper level (substation level or control room level) is implemented by the protocols Ethernet/TCP/IP/IEC 60870-5-104/IEC 61850.

Number of dedicated channels can be up to 16: 8 main channels and 8 reserve channels.

 

Software solution of the TMC is running under real-time operating system. It performs most important functions of data acquisition and solves the following tasks: 

  • registration of analog parameters of the steady state;
  • status poll of the switching equipment;
  • registration of startover and protection stage activation;
  • remote control of the switching equipment;
  • status poll and recording parameters of the MP RPA (settings);
  • fault recording;
  • oscillography of abnormal processes from different microprocessor-based devices;
  • communication with other automation systems via standard IEC protocols.
